Before you choose a roofing contractor, gather at least three written quotations (not estimates - estimates can change and you may well end up spending alot more than first 'estimated' when you receive your final bill!). These three written quotations will give you an understanding of what you should be spending and what you'll get for your money (a guarantee for instance). A written quotation should detail the proposed work with a fixed price. When choosing a contractor don't necessarily go for the cheapest. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is! Consider factors such as their insurance cover, length of guarantees, references and experience etc. Remember that most good roofers are booked up weeks in advance!
